Where 1A Crossley Street, Melbourne, 9663 7921Opening hours Mon-Fri 11am-6pm, Sat 11am-5pmKey players Glitzern began in 2007 when friends Caroline Price and Moira Rogers decided the best way of nurturing their love of accessories was to open a shop in praise of them. What they do Price and Rogers have a collection of fashion accessories from around the globe that is magical and mad. It is part costume jewellery, part vintage and part rock'n'roll. There are all sorts of jewels as well as bags, sunglasses and gloves. The eclectic mix of designers includes Digby & Iona (New York), Ham bag & Friends (London), Lucy Folk (Melbourne), Natalia Brilli (Paris) and Trimode (Bangkok). The fit-out This cute, little hidey-hole shop was once an old storage cupboard and is best suited to single-shopper browsing. The interior is gorgeous - rustic, scrubbed-back red brick walls dotted with ornate glass cabinets. Mounted, weird white hands hold out jewels for customers to admire.Products The most recent addition to the Glitzern family is the new range "Servalan" from Melbourne label House of Baulch, which is a radical blend of studs, lightening bolts and chunky chains. Other statement pieces in store include super sexy 1980s German Cazal sunglasses ($350), Digby & Iona sterling silver hare ring ($280), vintage Butler and Wilson spider brooch ($165) and shoulder-piece bag by Fleet Ilya ($990).Service Lovely.Website At glitzern.com.au you can read the shop's blog for regular updates on the comings and going of Crossley Street or purchase some stock.Verdict Weird, wacky, wild, wonderful.
